The word 'technical' means the practical use of machinery methods etc in science and industry. That's why technical
education means practical education. Hence we find two types of education one is practical and other is theoretical.
The present age is the age of practical or technical education. Technical education makes the learners fit for work.
The world is a global village. To compete with other countries, we need more and more technical or skilled
manpower. If we look at the developed countries, we see that this has become possible because of technological
advancement. So to make rapid progress, there is no alternative to technical education. Technical education can
drive away unemployment and poverty from the society. It is hopeful that the govt. encourages technical education.
The World Bank and the doner countries are also financing in the sector of technical education.

'প্রযুক্তিগত' শব্দের অর্থ বিজ্ঞান ও শিল্পে যন্ত্রপাতি পদ্ধতি ইত্যাদির ব্যবহারিক ব্যবহার। এজন্য টেকনিক্যাল শিক্ষা মানে ব্যবহারিক শিক্ষা। তাই আমরা দুই ধরনের শিক্ষা দেখতে পাই একটি হল ব্যবহারিক এবং অন্যটি তাত্ত্বিক। বর্তমান যুগ ব্যবহারিক বা কারিগরি শিক্ষার যুগ। কারিগরি শিক্ষা শিক্ষার্থীদের কাজের উপযোগী করে তোলে। পৃথিবী একটা গ্লোবাল ভিলেজ। অন্যান্য দেশের সাথে প্রতিযোগিতা করার জন্য আমাদের আরও বেশি করে প্রযুক্তিগত বা দক্ষ প্রয়োজন জনশক্তি আমরা যদি উন্নত দেশগুলোর দিকে তাকাই তাহলে দেখতে পাই প্রযুক্তিগত কারণে এটা সম্ভব হয়েছে অগ্রগতি তাই দ্রুত অগ্রগতি করতে হলে কারিগরি শিক্ষার বিকল্প নেই। কারিগরি শিক্ষা দিতে পারে সমাজ থেকে বেকারত্ব ও দারিদ্র্য দূর করা। এটা আশাবাদী যে সরকার কারিগরি শিক্ষাকে উৎসাহিত করে। বিশ্বব্যাংক ও দাতা দেশগুলোও কারিগরি শিক্ষা খাতে অর্থায়ন করছে।
